The security breach occurred recently at Equifax [A credit reporting company] is considered to be one of the disastrous data breach and it seems that cyber security hacks will be happening in future constantly. Though financial matter/transaction was not related here likes banks/insurance companies do but most astonishing fact that sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers and addresses, credit card numbers, driver license of up to 143 million Americans have been visible to fraudsters. But Equifax still didn’t reveal the exact figure.

Equifax has informed that they will communicate with the people whose credit numbers or dispute file has been hacked. The actual reason of such breach is still unknown and currently investigation is on-going. But few sources are claiming that problem has been raised due to technical error during application change and information has been disclosed inadvertently.

Equifax revealed that the data breached incident took place on July 29, 2017 when the criminals used U.S. website application vulnerability to gain access to certain files and after identifying the incidents, they have taken necessary steps to protect consumer information and interest.

If anyone feels that through this security breach, he/she can be affected then Equifax is advising customers to sign up for credit file monitoring and identity theft protection with one year free service through its TrustedID Premier business considering the fact that either you can be affected or not. In this era of modern technology and Internet, cyber attacks has been a common phenomenon now a days. It seems that data\security company tends to not to disclose information whenever a breach is occurred and like to do analysis about the significance of breach. However, individuals need to be careful when an unwanted events occurred and reports to authority as soon as possible.
